What do you need to become a top player?

During an interesting panel discussion with Hannes Van der Bruggen, Herman Brusselmans, Jan Van Troos and Joric Vandendriessche, youth football was analyzed. Under the guidance of VRT sports journalist Tom Boudeweel, the speakers gave their opinion about youth football and how easy or difficult it is for young players to grow into the A-core.

According to Joric Vandendriessche, coach U15 national team and soon working at SV Zulte Waregem, one has to stay humble and work hard as a young player. "Who focusses 100% on football, has a good profile. Kevin De Bruyne was such a person, "said Joric Vandendriessche. That Kevin would blow out to be a top player, Jan Van Troos had seen for a long time. It was he who discovered Kevin.
Hannes Van der Bruggen, top player at KV Kortrijk, knows how to flow as a young boy to the A-core. After the draw, he was a little jealous of the U15 participants of KDB Cup. "I wish I was back 15 years ago than I could join the KDB Cup," said Hannes Van der Bruggen.

The player is a big fan of writer Herman Brusselmans, one of the speakers. The author was a talented player in his young years and played for VW Hamme and Lokeren. He chose a literary career above the football. Brusselsman was already impressed by the KDB Cup and in his column in the newspaper the KDB Cup called a "beautiful tournament" and promises to finish together with Joric Vandendriessche, Jan Van Troos and Hannes Van der Bruggen.
